As expected, T V Rama Rao, Telugu Desam MLA from Kovvur in West Godavari, has been indicted by the Crime Investigation Department as an accused in the alleged rape and murder of a student nurse in his nursing college at Nidadavole.
The CID authorities submitted a preliminary report to Director General of Police S S P Yadav on Wednesday evening, stating that the allegations of molestation of girls against Rama Rao are correct and he is an accused. However, it is not known whether the CID had shown any evidences, other than the depositions of the girls, in the report.
It is also not clear whether the charges of alleged rape and murder were proved against him.
Right from the beginning, the CID authorities had investigated the case with the sole objective of indicting Rama Rao. Now, Rama Rao is all set to be arrested and put behind the bars. It is a different matter whether the CID would be able to prove the case in the court of law.
