Make me home minister for two hours: Narayana

Communist Party of India state secretary K Narayana is at it again. This time, he turned his ire on the government, rather than his CPI-M counterpart B V Raghavulu.

Speaking to media persons in Ongole, Narayana said the state government had miserably failed to check hoarding of essential commodities by traders, which resulted in escalation of prices. “The traders are resorting to hoarding with complete knowledge of the government. Let the Home Minister come with me; I will unearth the hoarding of commodities. Otherwise, make me home minister for two hours; I will show my power in taking out illegally stored goods,” he said.

Narayana said it was ridiculous on the part of the government to say that it would import red gram and other commodities, at a time when there were huge stocks in godowns. “All that you need is commitment and sincerity. How can the officials conduct raids, when they are regularly receiving kickbacks from traders?” he asked.
