Dasari recommended for Padma Vibhushan

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah on Thursday recommended the name of former Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao for the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award, the second highest civilian award in the country.

According to Chief Minister’s office sources, Dasari’s name was recommended for his outstanding contribution to Telugu cinema.

The Union government will go through the recommendations sent by all the states and then prepares the final list of awardees for Padmashree, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. The awards would be presented in January.
