CPI-M state secretary B V Raghavulu’s comment that there were ex-naxals in the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy cabinet has evoked strong protests in the Congress party.
Minister for agriculture N Raghuveera Reddy sought to know from Raghavulu who were the ministers who worked as Naxalites. He said Raghavulu was an opportunistic politician who had mortgaged CPM to TDP in the elections for political mileage, but voters taught him a lesson by rejecting Mahakutami to form the government.
Raghavulu was, perhaps, referring to Minister for Women and Child Welfare Konda Surekha, who had initially a Maoist sympathiser. Her classmate K Sudershan Reddy alias RK was killed in encounter with the police. For that matter, he was also a classmate of TDP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao. And another TD MLA Dhanasari Anasuya alias Sitakka was also an ex-Naxalite. So, what is wrong?
