Telugu NRIS in support of Separate Telangana

Recently the people of Telengana celebrated victory day on 12th December 2009 at Toronto, Canada on the occasion of declaring separate Telangana state. Meeting was attended by many Telegu NRI’s from all the regions of current state of Andhra Pradesh. Greater Toronto region boasts approximately 45,000 strong Telugu community. Majority have whole heartedly supported for the demand for a separate state of Telangana. All of them expressed their solidarity and ridiculed the idea that the development of Hyderabad represents the development of whole Telangana. And there is nothing wrong in having 2 states for a single linguistic community.

One of the attendees Chandra Swargam Chartered Accountant, President of TDF ( Telangana Development Forum ) Canada and son in law of late minister sri Puli Veeranna expressed that the Telangana received step motherly treatment in every field of development. As an example he quoted that Telangana having 10 districts has 17,594 schools where as Coastal region having 9 districts has 26,800 and Rayalaseema with 4 districts has 13,001.

On the same venue Mahesh Madadi Software Engineer, TDF Canada board of trustee chairman and board member of TDF USA felt shame on those parties which have supported for separate Telangana before the declaration and suddenly changed their view overnight. People from both regions of Telangana and Andhra are completely in favour of bifurcation of the state in two states. It is known to everyone that currently going on so called samaikyandhra movement is being supported only by land grabbers, real estate mafia and some other self interested individuals and not a genuine demand from the people of Andhra region.

All Telugu NRI’s requested people of both regions not to support these selfish and unprincipled leaders.

Speaking on the occasion Ramesh Munukuntla IT professional expressed that it is better to part off in brotherly relation rather than fighting everyday on various issues living together.

Sreenath kunduru Toronto based HR executive has blasted the view of those persons who are propagating the fear in the minds of Andhrites that the separation of state adversely affects their properties and interests. If that is the case, settlers from other states supposed to be in the front line to worry because their investments are huge.

Kaleemuddin Mohammed Dentist, Naveen Mereddy, Dentist and Jawahar Akavaram, Aviation Engineer strongly condemned the attitude of some persons of non ‘Telangana’ who tried using the unethical methods to spread slogans in support of so called ‘Samaikya Andhra’ by people of ‘Telangana’.

The meeting was concluded by praising the government of India for their bold and justified decision and pleaded the government to immediately start the process of formation of separate state of ‘Telangana’.
