A good number of MLAs are likely to skip the Assembly session, which is scheduled to begin on July 7. The Cabinet had fixed the monsoon session from July 7 and the Chief Minister K Rosaiah said the Assembly would celebrate the birth anniversary of late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
There is a strong criticism that Rosaiah had insisted on the date only to fix the MLAs against going to the Odarpu Yatra of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, which would begin at Itchapuram on July 8. If the MLAs are allowed to participate in the Odarpu Yatra, it is for sure that Jagan would get better attention in the media and public, which Rosaiah does not want.
Ananthapur MLA, Gurunadha Reddy, Rajole MLA Varaprasad have already said that they would not attend the Assembly. They said that they would first participate in the YS birth anniversary celebrations in their respective Assembly segments and then attend the Assembly session.
It is to be seen how many MLAs would skip the first two days of the monsoon session.
