She’s all set to waltz into Tollywood in khakee in her comeback vehicle Amaravathi, a complete contrast to the traditional role she’d essayed in her debut film Sangamam, which fizzled at the BO. Looks like the actress who was once studying to be a doctor and is a polyglot of sorts, (she is fluent in French, English, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi) is now taking her career in Tollywood seriously.
The pilate-practicing svelte actress, who was in the city wrapping up the shoot for the film, took time off her busy schedule for a chat. Her new film, also “features Bhumika Chawla and Sneha in cameo roles” with whom, she gets along “like a house on fire”. The film directed by Ravi Babu of Anasuya and Nacchavule fame is “an offbeat one without songs,” says Sindhura. “The director was looking for somebody who’s fit, has an international look and knows Telugu. That’s how the role came to me,” she smiles.
After completing a short film in English in New Zealand, Sindhura is looking forward to her second Telugu film directed by Nagesh Nardasi for which she's shooting in the Talakona forests in Tirupathi. “Tirupathi is special to me. Even before leaving to China for the Miss World contest (she made it to the semi-finals), I had visited the temple. The location is auspicious to me.”
