The video footage showing Jr N T Rama Rao enjoying a drink party with his friends including actor Rajiv Kanakala, supposedly on the night when he met with accident in April, has created a stir in the political circles.
While the Congress is trying to gain political mileage out of it, by clandestinely releasing the CD to the media, the Telugu Desam leaders have gone on the defensive. Despite a clarification made by Rajiv Kanakala that the video footage was an old one and Jr NTR did not consume liquor on the night when he met with accident, it continued to be a hot news.
But, a section of leaders are questioning as to what was wrong even if Jr NTR was drunk on that fateful day. “So what if he has the habit of consuming a peg or two? Was it a crime? Are all these people who trying to cash on this news not boozers? He is a young actor and he might have had this habit of partying? For that matter, can’t we find all these young actors going to pubs, boozing and dancing? If he was drunk at the time of driving, he paid the penalty for it in the form of accident. He was the one who suffered for drunken driving. In what way, does it affect others?” they question.
