There are a number of instances of women standing by their husbands, who indulge in illicit sex activities, because they feel it is part of their duty to protect their husbands. They think that if they give a clean chit to their husbands, there are better chances of people believing their words.
Remember the recent actor Shiny Ahuja case. Though he admitted and the authorities proved that he had indeed raped the servant maid, his wife categorically denied the same and said her husband was innocent and did not even know how to do rape. Well, there are people who believed her version, but the court did not.
Now, in the case of Kovvur Telugu Desam MLA T V Rama Rao, who was arrested for allegedly molested nursing students, too, his wife Sesha Ratnam firmly believes that he is innocent. She expressed anxiety over the health of her husband and found fault with the state government for subjecting them to harassment by foisting false cases against her husband.
She broke down several times, after he was taken to Rajahmundry jail. She warned that if anything went wrong with the TD leader, the State government and the CID sleuths would be held accountable.
