Everybody knows Dhanush has a fascination for films done by his father-in-law, Rajnikanth. His 'Polladhavan' and 'Padikkadhavan', both superhits, stand testimony to that.
In these two films, only the titles were borrowed. But now, the "mappilai" of Rajni will reprise the latter's role in 'Mappilai' (1989), directed by Rajasekar. The humorous film starrer Rajni as a son-in-law and Sri Vidya as his mother-in-law. Amalam played the female lead.
'Padikkadhavan' fame Suraaj, who will direct the Dhanush 'Mappilai', says that the film will have the necessary changes to make it contemporary.
