Red FM has agreed to play Marathi songs but has sought more time, as its main office is located in Chennai. However, Radio Mirchi has promised to start playing Marathi songs in its channel very soon.

It is said that Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray had earlier sent warning to radio stations to start playing Marathi songs within a week time.
