The Telugu Desam president, N Chandrababu Naidu, would campaign for the party candidates in the 12 Assembly segments where by-elections are to be held. The TD chief took the decision at the party meeting held this morning.
Naidu would be the chief campaigner for the party as he is unwilling to bring the film stars Nandamuri Balakrishna and Junior NTR, who are treated as stars from Andhra. Though a section of the leaders wanted Junior NTR and Balayya to campaign, majority leaders felt that their campaign would help the TRS. The TRS would use their presence in the campaign to raise the sentiments of the people.
The party chief would make one round to each segment, while the other leaders have already been made incharges for every segment. Keeping senior leaders like Devender Gowd and Nagam Janardhana Reddy to tour all the 12 seats, Naidu had positioned the other leaders in each segment. Kadiyam Srihari would be holding the repsonsibilty of the Warangal West segment.
The other leaders would work camping in the respective Assembly segments. The TD wants to win at least the Sirisilla seat, which it had won in 2009 elections. Though its Sirisilla MLA Ch Ramesh is now testing his time on TRS ticket, the TD wants to retain the seat besides winning at least two more seats.
