Story: story line of Maryada Ramanna was already announced by Rajamouli in Audio Fucntion. Ramanna(Suneel), who is living in Hyderabad with dreams of earning money to buy an auto. Ramanna's native place is village Gandikota, in Rayalaseema. He has good friend one is his old bicycle, he founds land in his Native Rayalaseema, so he went to Rayalaseem to sell out that land to unknown person to him.

In Rayalaseema Ramineedu (Nagineedu) and his sons are waiting for the person who is going to sell this land. Ramanna doesn’t know is that his dead father was a ‘seema factionist’, and someone who killed the brother of a well known Rayalaseema factionist Ramineedu. Ramanna somehow lands inside Ramineedu’s home and is already friends with Ramineedu’s daughter Aparna (Saloni)!.

Key: Ramineedu treats every guest who comes to his home with extreme hospitality and if he has to do any killing it will be outside his home.

Ramanna realizes he is about to be killed once he leaves the home and finds all sorts of excuses to stay inside the home. How does Ramu come out of their home, and how Ramineedu takes his revenge become the rest of the story.

Performances:

Sunil: He lives the character of Ramanna and makes you whole-heartedly empathize with him in his attempts to save his neck while trying to keep his smile intact. His character doesn’t go over¬board in the comic scenes though that is what is expected of him.

Saloni:Saloni has all the makings of a heroine, and one wonders why she hasn’t had many opportunities and dishes out a convincing performance.

Nagineedu:Nagineedu as the villain is just apt for the role, first timer in Telugu, emotes with extreme goodness in hospitality scenes while he elevates himself to a typical Telugu cinema villain easily.

Brahmaji: Brahmaji who does his role with extreme ease. His character is etched well, and his timing is spotless though it is touch hard to say that he is the comedian in the film.

Analysis:
Obviously the first films starting from ‘Student No 1’ till ‘Magadheera’ may be studded with star cast along with star heroes sharing their credit in the success of Rajamouli’s movies. With the kind of hullaboo created in the city with release of ‘maryada ramanna,’ it easily looks as if SS Rajamouli is to make his debut as HERO with this movie. Why not, with comedian turned hero Sunil not having the star craze, it is alone the name and stamp of ‘an ss rajamouli film’ that is pulling the crowds to theatres.

If Rajamouli had chosen even a known young actor or even a new comer, expectations could have been higher from his film. Hence Sunil was apt choice. Ravi Teja’s voice for the bicycle is funny, and in some scenes he becomes an invisible actor. cinematographer, notably in the train song and the cycle chase scenes. Editing is crisp and dialogues are written well, especially between Ramu and Ramineedu and Keeravani is melodious with the “Ammayi Khitki” song being the highlight thanks to being innovatively picturised in a train.
