Kothi Mooka Movie Review

The Cast and Crew

Music: Mani Sharma
Camera: Srinivasa Reddy
Producer: Venkat Jagadish
Banner: Tulasi Pujitha Films
Director: AVS
The Rating: 1.5 out of 5

The Film
Kothi Mooka appears more like monkey business with an improbable storyline that goes awry at every level

The Synopsis
Ramana (Krishnudu) is the son of Appa Rao (Jayaprakash Reddy) a politician and mother’s (Kovai Sarala) pet. He is poor in studies and detained in the same class. His classmate and his flame Lavanya (Sharddha Arya) comes back to the college as lecturer. Appa Rao wants to marry Ramana to the daughter of another politician, but Ramana wants to marry Lavanya. Only hitch is that Lavanya’s father Anji (AVS) is a beggar. The confrontation between Appa Rao and Anji is resolved by Kothi Mooka (Brahmanandam, Ali, Raghu Babu, Venu Madhav and others) who are all beggars.

The Performances
With a weak script and poor direction Krishnudu fails to impress. Jayaprakash Reddy and Kovai Sarala are their usual selves. Shraddha Arya has nothing much to do. Brahmanandam, Ali, Raghu Babu and Venu Madhav are wasted. All others just go through their motions.

The Techniques
The story is a weakly concoted hotch-potch and poor direction mars the entire narration. Dialogues are not in good taste. Music is average. Production-wise and technically the film is just average.

eRojuStory Verdict
Koothi Mooka centered around beggars and the film literally begs for an amiable unconcern. Imagine a beggar becoming MLA with the help of othesr of his ilk which is an insult to the intelligence of the audience.
