In a surprising development, the satellite links for the Sakshi TV went off, emptying the hands of the group to give live coverage of its chairman and Kadapa MP, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s Odarpu Yatra in Srikakulam on Thursday. The satellite links were available for the TV channel till late in the night.
The Sakshi group also announced that the satellite link unavailable for the channel and it had shifted the network to the Vanita TV of the NTV group. Since Thursday morning, Sakshi has been using the Vanita TV and NTV partially to give the live coverage of Jagan’s Odarpu Yatra.
On noticing this, one wonders whether the satellite disturbance for the Sakshi TV on the crucial day was part of the Congress high command’s game against Jagan? As the young MP gave a deaf ear to the Congress chief and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s advice on Yatra, and the channel is being used to gather support for Jagan, it appears like the UPA had placed its hand across the satellite signal and blocked the TV.
May be or may not be true, but that is what most of the people believe, given the growing opposition to Jagan within the Congress.
