Minister for Endowments, Gade Venkata Reddy, blamed the Central government for its promise on Telangana State which had caused the present unrest.
He said the Congress leadership had never promised Telangana. He cited the two subsequent elections of 2004 and 2009 in which Congress had won in the State. The Minister said that at no point of time the Congress had promised Telangana State.
However, he took strong exception to the Central government taking a decision to divide the State. He said the Central leadership is responsible for the present crisis and wanted the leadership to resolve it.
He said the State would miss the development if divided at this stage. He wanted the leaders to understand the issue from the point of development and the interests of the common man.
The Minister expressed confidence that the situation would soon return to normalcy and the State would remain undivided.
