Senior Congress leaders, K Kesava Rao and K Jana Reddy, have asked the State and the Central governments to probe into the helicopter crash in which Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was killed in Nallamala forest on September 2, 2009.
Quoting the reports appeared in Sakshi daily on October 19, the two leaders felt the need to clear doubts on the views expressed in the report. They wanted the State and Central governments to intervene and direct the investigating authorities to look into the doubts raised in the media.
The two leaders, in different statements, observed that the doubts raised in the Sakshi report, were to be cleared. They pointed out that the probe has to give no scope for anyone to suspect the chopper crash. “If there was anything wrong or conspiracy in the incident, it has to be told to the people. If there is nothing, even that has to be told to the people,” the two leaders maintained.
Besides these two leaders, the APCC general secretary and a strong votary of YS camp, Ambati Rambabu, also asked the government to order thorough probe into the chopper crash and clear the doubts.
It is now the responsibility of the government to look into the issues raised in the Sakshi report and clear the doubts.
