It could well be a damp squib this Diwali for the thousands of Namitha fans. The much-awaited Jaganmohini (aka Jagan Mohini)will not be released on schedule on the festive day following an interim stay by the Madras High Court on Tuesday.

Justice G. Rajasurya granted the stay to producer-distributor A.L. Alagappan, who had alleged that H. Murali, producer of Jaganmohini, owes him four lakhs.

Alagappan contended that he suffered a huge loss when he paid a staggering amount of Rs. 40 lakh to buy the distribution rights of the Srikanth-Sneha starrer Bose produced by Murali. He also gave an additional amount of four lakhs to Murali, which he wanted returned, hence his application to the court.
