In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister PR president K. Chiranjeevi expressed concern over the “political bias” in providing compensation to flood affected families.
The PR has urged Chief Minister K. Rosaiah to inquire into the allegations of “misappropriation” of funds released for providing relief and rehabilitation to people affected by the recent floods and initiate stringent action against those found guilty of irregularities.
Mr. Chiranjeevi, who toured the flood affected districts, said the situation in Kurnool city, which bore the brunt of the floods, was far from returning to normalcy, contrary to the claims of the Government.
He wanted the Government to waive loans obtained by farmers in the flood-hit districts and ensure that they were provided input subsidy of 90 per cent instead of 50 per cent proposed.
Mr. Chiranjeevi wanted the Government to initiate stringent action against traders who were hoarding essentials and creating artificial scarcity.
