HYDERABAD: It may have been a kind of initiation for him. But for the scores of hapless commuters, Chiranjeevi became part of the problem when he and his partymen paralysed traffic on the busy Sardar Patel Road in Secunderabad on Thursday morning to protest the rising prices of essential commodities.
With another election season kicking off in the city thanks to the ensuing GHMC polls, political parties are making their presence felt by upping their nuisance value. After the TDP the other day, it was the turn of Chiranjeevi and Prajarajyam on Thursday to stage a protest outside the office of the Chief Rationing Officer next to Yatri Niwas.
The protest was scheduled for 10.30 am and PRP workers and leaders including T Devender Goud and K Venkat Rao began the protest outside the gates of the office by staging a sit-in and wearing garlands of different vegetables to register their protest against rising prices. Around 11.30 am, a diffident Chiranjeevi joined them.
