Who Design's CBN’s padayatra

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu has roped in Telugu cinema’s directors S S Raja Mouli, Teja and Srinu Vitla to help design the political padayatra he is planning to launch on October.

Naidu also sought help from film writers Paruchuri Brothers, who have reportedly suggested the title “Vastunna meekosam (I am coming for you)” which is no less than a movie title.

Sources say Naidu finally zeroed on the filmy title after he had a series of closed door meetings with his party colleagues and sympathisers in the Telugu cine field.
The party received over 400 names for the 117-day yatra. On Saturday, popular cine writers Paruchuri brothers met Naidu and suggested two names “Jana chaitanya yatra”, “Mee Andari Kosam” and “Vastunna Meekosam.”  Naidu is learnt to be keen on the third name.

While the party is not willing to officially announce the place from where the yatra will be launched, it is almost certain that it will kick off from Hindupur in Anantapur district.

Initially, the TDP president wanted to start his walkathon from Adilabad district. While astrologers ruled out the first option, his choice of Mahbubnagar as an alternative was opposed by his own party men due to the raging Telangana sentiment in that district.

It was finally decided that he should start his yatra from Anantapur district. However, it has not yet been decided from which constituency he should start his tour. Initially, it was thought he should start from Hindupur.

The party, which received a drubbing in a series of elections in the last eight years, is banking heavily on Naidu’s padayatra to ride onto power in 2014 and its leaders have started making preparations with high political expectations.
The TDP has prepared audio CDs with several songs for the yatra, which will shortly be released.

Film actor Balakrishna, Naidu’s brother-in-law, is also providing suggestions and directions to the party supremo.

A TDP leader said it was not new for the party chief to involve Tollywood stars in party work and recalled the election campaigning by several stars in 2004 and 2009.

Prakashraj and his addiction

He is known as one of the most sought after actors in the southern circuit and has come up with some power packed performances. He is none other than Prakashraj and time now to talk about his flip side. Apparently, Prakash is said to be addicted to smoking and some say that he puffs like a chimney. However, in the recent past, Prakash has been working hard on fighting away this addiction and though it has been quite a challenge for him, he is said to have managed to reduce the quota a bit. Sources reveal that it is during the work times when the pressure is high that Prakashraj is said to be letting himself go with two or more cigarettes.

Rumours emanating from Kollywood suggest that there's something more to it than that meets the eye between 'Kadhal' Sandhya and Shantanu, son of director K.bhagyaraj. The couple, said to be madly in love with each other, reportedly developed some differences between them and had patched up among themselves only last week at the intervention of friends and well-wishers from both the sides.

Meanwhile, Shantanu's father and director K. Bhagyaraj, who married actresses Poornima after falling with her, has reportedly advised his son strongly about 'getting' into the 'clutches of love'.

Hyd metro rail back to square one

The much-hyped Hyderabad metro rail project has come back to square one with the State government on Tuesday canceling the concession agreement signed with Maytas Infa, the sister concern of scam-hit Satyam Computers.

The Rs 12,132-crore Hyderabad metro rail project has now to be started all over again. Minister for municipal administration and urban development Anam Ramnarayana Reddy said the state government had decided to cancel the project as Maytas Infra-led consortium failed to achieve financial closure by March 17 deadline. The Rs 71 crore that Maytas had paid would not be returned.

A decision on how to go about with the project would be taken at the Cabinet meeting to be held on July 13. “For now the project is scrapped. A consortium led by Maytas Infrastructure which was awarded the contract is unable to start the project for various reasons. Other consortia are not interested in taking up the project so we are terminating the contract with Maytas and scrapping the project for the time-being. All agreements between Maytas and government now stand cancelled. We will decide whether to go for global re-tendering or take it up under public-private partnership mode,” the minister said.

YSR splits TDP in its stronghold

The Telugu Desam Party in its stronghold district of Adilabad has landed in a major trouble, as it is all set to lose the Zilla Parishad to the Congress.

As many as 12 Zilla Parishad territorial constituency members belonging to the TDP quit the party and joined the Congress, stating that they were attracted towards the welfare and developmental programmes taken by Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Already, two ZPTCs of the TDP joined the Congress in the past, taking the total number of defectors to 14.

The TDP has 33 members in the 52-member Zilla Parishad; of which one became an MLA and another became an MP, while one more ZPTC died. Out of the remaining 30 members, 14 have now defected to the Congress, reducing the TDP to minority. So, it is only a matter of time that the TDP concedes the ZP to the Congress.
