One and all in the Telugu film industry were quite surprised to see the prestigious Nandi Award given away to veteran director and actor Dasari Narayana rao for his best acting performance in film ‘Mestry.’ He made this film during the last general elections to give a counter to his darling enemy Chiranjeevi. But, the movie was packed up from theatres in less than a week, because it was rejected by the audiances. Yet, our State Government saw something miracle in that film and awarded Dasari as the Best Actor.
Entire industry people are expecting the award for some other films and to some other actors but certainly not to Dasari Narayana rao. But, the State Government surprised them all and made them think what happened behind the screen? Some people doubts that he was given the award only because of his Congress roots and his back door lobbying. However, we have to accept that Dasari Narayana rao is now a Best Actor!
