True to his reputation, the ace film maker Ramgopal Varma has once again gained the pre-release publicity as planned for his yet to be released movie "Raktha Charithra". The flick was publicised earlier as based on real life faction fueds between Paritala Ravi and Maddilacheruvu Suri that took place in Ananthapur district. The film has earned the ire of Obul Reddy's family, which sent a legal notice to Ram Gopal Varma, for allegedly portraying Obdul Reddy as a rapist. Telugu Desam's Vallabhaneni Vamsi had also accused the film of showing Paritala Ravi in a poor light. Though the film had a disclaimer that the film was not intended to portray real life characters, the Censor Board felt that people should not get hurt by the mention of a real place and accordingly directed its maker to change the name of the place. Complying with Board's instructions, Ramgopal Varma changed the name of the district from 'Ananthapur' to "Anandapur'.
