Chief Minister K Rosaiah has claimed that the Congress would win 41 Lok Sabha seats out of 42 in the State in the 2014 elections. He said this would be possible with the legacy left behind by late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and the leadership of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and the AICC chief, Sonia Gandhi.
He said the Congress was able to retain power both in the State and at the Center because of Dr Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi. However, in Andhra Pradesh, the Congress got benefited mostly because of the leadership of Dr Rajasekhar Reddy, he said and added that Dr Reddy was able to retain power for the party against all odds.
He said Dr Reddy’s hard work was now visible in the election of five zilla parishad chairmen for the Congress in the State, besides the victory at Tekkali.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the government would continue it the welfare programmes initiated by Dr Rajasekhar Reddy. He said he would not stop even a single welfare programme of Dr Rajasekhar Reddy.
However, Rosaiah refused to comment on the statements of Rajya Sabha member, V Hanumantha Rao. He said the high command would take care of the statements and counter statements, while he was concentrating on the administration.
Interestingly, Rosaiah is getting greater support from several quarters of the Congress and it is to be seen whether he would be able to complete the term or would be asked to vacate the seat before he sits comfortably in the seat.
