In the last elections, PRP candidate Duvvada Srinivas lost the seat to Revathipathi by a few thousand votes. Srinivas said he had lost the elections narrowly because of cross voting in Parliament elections and this time, he would win the seat hands down as there was no sympathy wave for Revathipathi.
Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi is now determined to establish himself politically by building up his party firmly and he believes that winning the by-elections to Tekkali assembly seat is the best opportunity for it.
Chiranjeevi did not lose much time in capitalising on the situation; he rushed to Tekkali on Monday for the nomination of Srinivas and campaign for him. He said Tekkali bypoll would be a new beginning for the PRP to recoup its energies and emerge as a strong force. Best of luck, Chiru!
