The allegations against suspended Andhra Cricket Association secretary V Chamundeshwaranath that he had resorted to sexual harassment of women cricketers turned out be prima facie true.
This was revealed by Additional Director General of Police V Ratan, who was appointed as the inquiry officer into the allegations against Chamundi. Ratan, who visited Visakhapatnam and interrogated several crickets and ACA authorities, came to the conclusion that Chamundi had, indeed, made sexual overtures to women cricketers. He submitted the report to Director General of Police S S P Yadav on Wednesday.
While it is a bad news for Chamundi, a section of Congress leaders feel the timing of Ratan’s announcement was perfectly right in the wake of Telugu Desam Party’s wild allegations against the government on the arrest of Kovvur MLA T V Rama Rao. The TDP leaders raised the issue of sparing Chamundi, while decrying the arrest of Rama Rao. Now, the TDP leaders have to keep their mouths shut.
