Tamannah troubles the director?

Kanden Kadhalai, the Tamil remake of Bollywood blockbuster Jab We Met has Tamannah playing the role of a bubbly, talkative girl. Bharath plays the male lead in the film. And if Kareena played a Punjabi girl in the Hindi version, director Kannan wanted Tamannah to portray a girl from Theni, near Madurai. Since her character is that of a chatterbox, Tamannah had pages of dialogues in the film. But the actress was unfamiliar with the dialect of Tamil spoken in Theni, so Kannan came up with a new technique to make it work. “I gave her a bound version of the script in English with Tamil dialogues, three months in advance. I also appointed an assistant director who is fluent in both Tamil and Hindi, exclusively for her, and also appointed a girl to assist her all the time and teach her the correct lip movements. As a result, I could finish the shooting really fast,” says Kannan. The director reveals that unlike the Hindi version, Kanden Kadhalai will begin and end in a train. Moserbaer has produced the film, and Vidhyasagar has composed the music.-DC
