A video clip purporting to show the actor Jr NTR drinking liquor before he met with his accident on March 26 surfaced on the videos website Youtube and a few local television channels.Jr NTR was badly injured in the accident and was hospitalised for about six weeks. The accident occurred when he was returning to the city for a campaign break ahead of Ugadi.
At that time, it was projected as an accident which occurred when Jr NTR swerved to save a dog at about 11 pm near Mothe village in Nalgonda district. After the accident, Jr NTR was admitted to a hospital in Suryapet were police took statements from him and his friends. They told the police that Jr NTR felt drowsy while driving and went off the road.But the video clip seems to imply that Jr NTR was drinking liquor before he took the wheel. He is shown singing and playing a drum at a gathering.
The noted TV actor Rajiv Kanakala, who was in Jr NTR’s vehicle, is also seen at the gathering.
The video is said to have been recorded on Jr NTR’s cellphone. It is believed to have leaked out when the instrument was given for repair.The clips were played on local TV channels throughout the day. Close associates of Jr NTR denied the TV reports and said the visuals were doctored.“Jr NTR’s dress in the video and what he wore that day are not same. Even the hair style of Rajiv Kanakala is different from the video,” pointed out a Jr NTR aide.Sources said that visuals taken at different times were clubbed with that of the accident in order to defame the actor.
