Even as Praja Rajyam Party is facing a threat to its own existence, party president Chiranjeevi is facing yet another trouble.
On Wednesday, his party leaders C Ramachandraiah and others submitted a representation to Election Commission seeking allotment of “rising sun” as its election symbol. Though EC did not make any instant announcement on the allotment of symbol, sources said the authorities expressed apprehensions that it might not be possible to allot the symbol, because it was allotted to the DMK, which might even contest in Andhra Pradesh elections.
So, it had asked the PRP leaders to choose another alternative symbol, in case the DMK objects to allotment of rising sun to the PRP. Ramachandraiah chose “wheel” symbol as an alternative. Perhaps, Chiranjeevi might have thought wheel represents valour, as it was the weapon of Abhimanyu in Mahabharata war!
