This is the startling news even in this recession season. The recession has hit almost all the segments except the ‘begging industry’. A beggar at a traffic signal in SR Nagar, Hyderabad is said to be earning Rs 15000 and this was revealed by himself to a lady who tried to educate him to work rather begging.
He said, “Amma! maandyam vachchi udyogalu annee ooduthunnayanta kadaa. Ippudu naaku evadu udyogam itthaadu. Ichchcina naaku vachche rs 15000 yevadu iththaadu? Call center lo pani chese volla kannaa naaku ekkuve vaththandi”. (Due to recession many are losing jobs. Who will give job for me now? Even though I get one, who will give me Rs 15000 per month that I’m already getting? I’m earning better than that of a call center employee)
These words shocked the lady. In fact, the beggars are getting bigger income during recession as many are feeling sentimental that giving alms for poor would bring their lost job back. That way ‘begging industry’ is on top now!
