July 23: Two girls were slapped by an irate woman in her 30s at a pub in Lifestyle building on Wednesday night.
The woman reportedly bumped into one of the girls who was talking on her cellphone. The girl, said to be inebriated, flung her footwear at the woman. In retaliation, the woman abused the girl, dragged her out of the pub by her collar and kicked her.
Another girl, also inebriated, got similar treatment. Shocked onlookers kept gawking at the fight, which a wag commented, reminded them of a third-rate film of yesteryear.
The two girls fled the scene after the attack. The woman claiming that she was a “rowdy” remained at the spot.
Witnesses said the fight started in the pub and spilled into the foyer on the ground floor and shifted to a spot opposite a music outlet. Neither party approached the police.
Mr Anthony Lawrence, manager of the pub, 10 Downing Street, said the Punjagutta police had registered a petty case against the bar. The Punjagutta sub-inspector, Mr K. Uma Reddy, said investigations are on.
