crocodile attack for Nitin and Ramu's crew

While shooting for Agyaat, Ram Gopal Varma and his team miraculously survived a crocodile attack. However, the attack left such an impact that the crew still hasn't been able to completely recover from it.

"On third day of shoot, the unit heard a rustling sound that become louder in matter of a few minutes. When they looked in the direction of the sound, they were shocked to see a large number of crocodiles coming fast in the direction of the unit," says a source. It turned out that the animal blood that was being used for the shoot did all the damage.

"We were shooting Agyaat in the deep jungles of Sri Lanka. Since the film is inspired by the Blair Witch Project, we had to shoot a lot of gruesome sequences. We used animal blood on the rocks and trees to signify the death of a few people. However, what we were not aware of was that there was a river nearby, just about two kilometres away. That's where the crocodiles, about 45 of them came from," adds the source.

This scared the whole unit and some of them were so upset with the sight that they reportedly refused to carry on with the shoot.

The source says, "It was the scariest experience of my life. Here, we were shooting a sequence of people dying and the next thing we could hear was sounds emanating from the jungle. Since we had not heard this kind of sound before, we all got curious and wondered what it was. Within minutes we saw the crocodiles charging towards us.

Thankfully we had a barbed fence just 500 meters away and we all rushed inside it."
Post this incident, Ramu hired a few forest rangers to protect the crew. He says, "After that incident, we always had more than 15 forest rangers protecting us from all sides and looking out for wild animals. We actually had more security than we do in Mumbai and that too, to protect us from unknown.
