Chiru & CBN to go hand in hand?

The Praja Rajyam and the Telugu Desam joined hands and decided to cooperate with each other to fight the Congress. This is the first time that it participated in a joint agitation at the Indira Park on the issue of petroleum price hike.
The leaders of the Left parties played a key role in bringing the PR and TD closer. Due to this joint protest, there is a strong possibility of a seat adjustment among the Opposition parties for the GHMC elections.
The PR which is keen to get a sizeable number of seats in the GHMC elections is believed to have understood that isolated agitations will not catch the attention of the voters in Hyderabad where it does not have a strong network at the division level. Even though it adopted a ‘soft’ stand towards the Congress in the Assembly elections, it now wants to train its guns on the Congress government in the Budget session.
The PR is likely to have floor co-ordination with the TD and Left parties during the session.
The Opposition leaders criticised the government’s ‘failure’ to control prices in the open market. They expressed concern over the casual attitude of the ministers and senior officials who have been washing their hands off the issue saying it was a national problem not confined to AP.
“The government has not come out with any action plan to control prices. It did not mention about the problem in the Budget also,” said senior PR leader, Mr T. Devender Goud.
