The Yatra, as was announced by Jagan himself in an open letter to the high command, would start at Itchapuram on July 8 in Srikakulam district, marking the birth anniversary of his father, Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. Jagan, his mother, Vijayalakshmi and sister, Sharmila, have tried to convince the AICC chief, Sonia Gandhi to support the Yatra in vain.
However, after meeting Sonia Gandhi, the Jagan camp initiated the preparatory work for the Yatra, which is aimed at meeting and consoling the family members of those who died following the death of Dr Rajasekhar Reddy.
Jagan had already left for Idupula Paya village, where he would pay respects to his father’s tomb and return to the capital on Tuesday evening. He would take train to Itchapuram on the next day night and reach Srikakulam on Thursday to being the yatra.
Meanwhile, KVP Ramachandra Rao, is busy making last minute trial to convince the high command and get clearance for Jagan’s Yatra. It is to be seen what would happen in the next couple of days.
Will the high command clear Odarpu Yatra, to avoid split in the party? If permission is not given, will Jagan proceed on Yatra and face trouble from high command?
These are the questions that are bothering the political analysts, which would get some answer in the next two days.
