Congress MP Mr. Ponnam Prabhakar has said that the Vemulawada and Sircilla by-elections were postponed only because of the conspiracy of the TRS leader Mr T. Harish Rao and the internal bickering in his party.
Mr Prabhakar, who is the convenor of Congress MPs, has alleged that Mr Harish Rao got the elections postponed as he was unable to bear the fact that Mr K. T. Rama Rao, son of the TRS chief Mr K. Chandrasekhara Rao was growing up politically. He said Mr Harish Rao has given wrong information to the Election Commission and claimed that the Congress had nothing to do with the postponement. Congress never asked the EC to postpone elections to the two seats.
He said the demand for Telangana state could be construed to have won, notwithstanding who won the elections.
He said that he and other party MPs would be meeting the Prime Minister to complain about the contempt of court committed by the Maharashtra government on the Babili project. He has appealed to the TDP to join the Congress to meet the Prime Minister on the issue.
