New Delhi, Jun 25: Fuel prices are set to pinch the commoner's pocket again as the government has decided to hike the prices of petrol, diesel, kerosene and LPG following a Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM) meeting, headed by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Friday, Jun 25.
The petrol price has gone up by 3.50 rupees per litre, while diesel price has been hiked by Rs 2 per litre. LPG also got dearer by Rs 35 per cylinder while Kerosene will cost Rs 3 more per litre. The prices of petrol and diesel have been decontrolled, S Sundareshan, the Oil Secretary informed while addressing a press conference after the meeting.
Freeing the prices of these fuels from government control means that their prices will be market-driven.However, the prices of LPG and Kerosene have not been decontrolled.
