A day after moving into C Block, chief minister K Rosaiah on Tuesday started the exercise of reshuffling top babus to tone up the administration. The Chief Minister Rosaiah, is slowly tightening his grip over the administration by kicking out officials who held key positions under the late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
On Tuesday the government transferred Mrs Y. Srilakshmi, secretary of industries and commerce. She was handling mines for the past four years. Mrs Srilakshmi was the first bureaucrat to be shifted by Mr Rosaiah after taking over the reins.
The transfer came just a day after YSR’s special secretary Mr M.G.V.K. Bhanu was asked by the Centre not to continue in the state beyond October 30. He has decided to return to his Assam cadre.
Sources said that a lobby working for the Chief Minister was instrumental in the Centre issuing orders restricting Mr Bhanu’s deputation. As expected, the Chief Minister is likely to shift the director general of police, Mr S.S.P. Yadav.
Mr Girish Kumar is all set to become DGP and the Chief Minister might consider posting another senior officer Mr Gautam Kumar, known for his integrity, in the Anti Corruption Bureau. M Rosaiah is also under pressure to overhaul the CMO.
