The latest cricketer to have been bitten by the acting bug (after Sunil Gavaskar in Savli, Sandeep Patil in Kabhi Ajnabi The, Vinod Kambli in Anarth and Mohsin Khan in Batwara) is Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar. It has been reliably learnt that the Pakistani cricketer who had earlier been approached to play Shiney Ahuja’s role in Gangster, has started shooting for a Bollywood film, Main Aur Mera Himmat with Aap Ka Surroor girl Hansika who’s also a Tollywood superstar.

The shooting for the film is already underway in a village in Punjab. According to a reliable source, close to the star, Hansika is “playing the role of an innocent village belle” and will for the first time be seen as a typical Punjabi kudi, far removed from her usual trendy, youthful roles.
