Power mongers are ruining Jagan’s chances

The power mongers in the State are ruining the chances of Kadapa MP, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. Though there is enough scope for Jagan to succeed his father, Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, these power mongers, who are now rallying around Jagan, are ruining his chances by leaving no option to the high command. They are even threatening the high command, which made the party leadership to give a thought to the public demand.

The sudden death of Dr Rajasekhar Reddy also brought the new demand on his succession from the people. It was spontaneous and erupted out of sympathy caused by the death of Dr Reddy. But the power mongers have owned up this public demand and started sending warning signals to the high command.

The Congress leadership, with over 125 years of history, never heeded to pressures from the State leaders. There were several leaders who left the party from its national scene during its long history.

Jagan has been keeping silent on the issue and had even made K V P Ramachandra Rao to be silent. However, the power mongers are scared of losing their position if Jagan is not made the Chief Minister.

Interestingly, the feeling was expressed by Rajahmundry MP, Undavilli Arunkumar, who was close to Dr Rajasekhar Reddy. Arun Kumar has a long association with Dr Reddy and is said to be one of the very close people to the late leader. He had pointed an accusing finger at the people who are creating problems to the party leadership by raising the demand in favour of Jagan.

The Jagan camp should understand this strategic drama of the handful of the power mongers and ensure that their thirst does not harm Jagan's prospects.
